Junior Olympic Tumbling
The Junior Olympic (JO) program includes levels 1-10. An athlete may enter the JO program at level 7 or below depending upon the coaches assessment of the athlete. However, once an athlete competes at a level, he/she must meet all mobility requirements in order to move up to the next level. The current US JO Routines are explained here for tumbling up to level 10.
Sergio was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala. In 1994, Sergio began coaching at Capital Gymnastics and Manager of Capital Gymnastics NTC. Sergio has been named the Tumbling National Team Coach and Tumbling Coach of the Year many times. He is the Head Coach of our Power Tumbling Team and assists with the girls team when needed. His degree is from George Mason University in Biology and Psychology. He says his reasons for becoming a coach: “I enjoy dealing with kids and became a coach through climbing the ladder of knowledge in the sport.” Sergio hobbies are sports, working out and cars.
