Women’s Team Coaches

Tish Decoud

Tish was born in Paraguay. She has been coaching for 12 years at Capital Gymnastics. Tish coaches recreational, and level 3 and 4 of the competitive team. Tish attended George Mason University. Tish’s hobbies include hanging out with family and friends as well as being a Washington Redskins’ fan.

Morgan Evans

Before working at Capital, Morgan was a coach at Excalibur Gymnastics in Virginia beach for 4 years. Morgan began gymnastics at the age of 5 in San Diego,  California, and continued her competitive gymnastics career for the following 18 years. Morgan received her Bachelors of Arts degree in Communications from The University of North Carolina where she was also a student athlete on the gymnastics team. Her accomplishments as a gymnast include being a former member of the USA National Team Member and participating in multiple NCAA National Championships. As a coach, Morgan has coached all JO levels and has choreographed Olympic floor routines.  Coaching is Morgan’s dream job because she loves seeing growth in young children and being able to be a mentor and a leader is gratifying. She is excited to share her passion and grow with the Capital family  In her spare time, Morgan still continues to practice gymnastics for fun and is into fitness and reading.

Marina Gerom

Marina joined Capital Gymnastics in 1994, having coached since 1981.  Originally from the Ukraine, Marina attended the Kiev Institute of Sport and Physical Culture, graduating in 1981.  From 1981 to 1994, Marina was with the Ukraine National Team until moving to the US to join the Capital Gymnastics coaching staff.  Marina trains Level 7 to Elite.  She is married – her husband was a professional volleyball player, and has two boys, also athletes who enjoy volleyball, tennis and swimming.  Marina loves to travel, read books, especially about history, enjoys art museums and of course, spending time with her family.

Aryan Mazloum

Before working at Capital, Aryan was a coach at GMS Gymnastics for 13 years. Born into the world of gymnastics, Aryan’s aunt and uncle owned GMS and most of his family worked in the gym. Aryan began gymnastics as a sport when he was 2 and started coaching when he was young, assisting his cousin, who was the director and head coach of GMS in all levels. When Aryan was 15, he coached levels 4 and 5, and both teams won 1st place at states.  Aryan has coached all levels, has many state and national titles for his teams, and was named one of the top vault coaches in the nation during the 2011-2012 season. Aryan has written many articles about gymnastics and conducts coaching clinics. He received his Bachelors of Science degree from George Mason University in physical therapy and computer science. He is currently pursuing a masters in health informatics.  Coaching is Aryan’s dream job, and he is happy to share that dream with Capital Gymnastics and all the gym’s families.

Tatiana Perkskaia

Tatiana was born in Poltava, Ukraine. In 1970 and 1973 she was the All-Around Champion of the Ukraine and in 1985 her student, Oksana Omelianchik, became the All-Around World Champion. Tatiana earned the titles of “Distinguished Coach of Ukraine” and “Distinguished Coach oh the Soviet Union.” Tatiana was hired as the Women’s Head Coach at Capital Gymnastics National Training Center in 1992. She presently coaches levels 7 through Elite. At the 2001 World Championships, Katie Heenan was the bronze medalist on the Uneven Bars, an Elite gymnast under the instruction of Tatiana and her Elite coaching staff.  Tatiana and her coaching staff also coached World Champion Katie Heenan and World Champion on Beam, Ashley Postell (2002).  Among her many amazing coaching titles, Tatiana is Head Coach at Capital Gymnastics NTC, an International Brevet Judge and is on the USA Gymnastics Women’s National Team Coaching Staff.

Victor Vetrov

Victor has been on the coaching staff for Capital for the past 17 years. He coaches team levels 7 through Elite. He was born in the Ukraine and attended the National University of Ukraine where he graduated with Master of Arts in Music. Victor is part of the National Team Staff along with his wife Tatiana Perskaia, the women’s head coach at Capital Gymnastics National Training Center.  Victor trained world champions Ashley Postell and Katie Heenan.

Victor enjoys playing the drums and listening to jazz music. Victor was a drummer in the Orchestra of the Russian Circus. He was recruited as a spotter and trainer of acrobats which led him to his interest in gymnastics and training, coaching for over 20 years. At the gym, Victor is known as the #1 Washington’s Redskins fan.
